What is Myofascial Release?

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a safe and effective technique used on the whole body to help release tension in our fascia. It is relaxing like a massage, but the slow, intentional and energetic touch gets down to the deepest layers, creating lasting change. The long, sustained pressure helps to address root causes of many common symptoms and ailments. After a session you may feel more space in your body, less discomfort and pain and a lightness that wasn’t there before. And after multiple treatments you will most likely have resolution of the symptoms you were experiencing.

MFR may be for you if:

  • You have been living with chronic pain that you haven’t been able to resolve through other means
  • You have had one or many surgeries/injuries that have left scar tissue in and on your body
  • You hold tension through bracing patterns and have a hard time relaxing
  • You get headaches or migraines on a regular basis
  • You work a very physical job and experience tension and pain everyday and no other healing modalities have worked for you
  • You work a sedentary job where you have to sit in one place all day
  • You have birth trauma
  • Your pelvis and hips feel “off”
  • You get the picture- almost anything!

For women, it can also be an amazing way to release pain and disconnect in the pelvis. This is what first drew me to this type of practice. I wanted to release birthing trauma, balance my pelvis and connect with my womb again to allow more pleasure and lessen pain.
